Breaking Bread

This shrine for the bread shows our thanksgiving to a new season of growth and seeds to be planted; a celebration of the sun and its warmth, of the balance between night and day during the equinox and most importantly sharing this with you through ceremony by breaking the bread for you.
By combining paintings and textiles with the objects given by the location we created a shrine in the kitchen. In the buzzing energy of the kitchen, which is the heart of the home, a place to gather, share stories and food, we stay connected to the ceremony and to each other.
The Breaking Bread ceremony was part of Pharmakon Festival by Zoef Mashaldina at Greylight Projects (Heerlen).
